Aims for Next Year
This year I have really enjoyed getting settled with all the workshops and the studio space. Next year I aim to do more large scale work. I also want to do lots of experimentation to give me the confidence to produce my final pieces. I can experiment using the different resources, techniques and processes that are available to me. I wish to find my niche and develop it further as a professional artist. I wish to take the opportunity to meet other artists and make new contacts. I also want to research and discover more about other artists that create work that will inspire me, and profoundly have an impact on my own work. Overall I look forward to the new challenges that face Year 2.

Fine Art & Place
Fine Art and Place brief was a challenge as I had to do site-specific work and work that is not in a studio. I found a spot in my garden where loads of spiders had inhabited and created many beautiful webs. This got me thinking about webs. I wanted to create a large web perhaps, in the space , and create layer upon layer of webs. I wanted to use the materials around me to create the large scale web, simlar to Andy Goldsworthy's work. I took many photographs each day to see if the web had changed , such as eroded, gained habitat of spiders, insects or other animals.
I then made a web like sculpture out of wood and sticks and vines that I could find around me. I hung this sculpture above in a tree, in a woods to leave and let nature do its thing. This was in a public space, not my garden. I want the audience to be shocked and intrigued when they bump across it on their walks.
I also looked at webs in other forms and sites. I wanted to draw different webs and build and intergrate other drawings of webs into my drawings.
